Prof Brett Heyward, Consulting Partner

Brett is an experienced CEO, senior executive, consultant and academic.

He has led large organisations, creating significant gains in terms of economic performance, employee engagement and stakeholder relations.


Brett’s advice on business improvement and policy is sort after in the resources, construction and agricultural sectors, along with sporting organisations and the not-for-profit sector.


Brett was the former Director-General of Natural Resources and Mines in Queensland, and has served in a number of executive positions, including the Executive Director of Sport. He has worked as a senior executive in a large, multi-national consulting firm, and General Manager-level roles in manufacturing businesses.

Currently, Brett has focused his attention on helping others gain from his experience and knowledge. Recognising his career focus, Brett was recently appointed as an Industry Professor at the University of Queensland, where his research and teaching interests are focused on personal and organisational leadership, as well as strategy and performance.
